Permanent make-up is a cosmetic technique which utilizes tattooing. Using computerised technology, pharmaceutical grade pigments are tattooed into the upper dermis of the skin to define lips, eyes and brows.

Permanent make-up is useful for all women, whether it is to enhance natural beauty or to look ‘made up’. It is fantastic for women who are too busy, have problems applying make-up or spend time in the gym or at the beach.  Many women loose their eyebrows as they get older and permanent make-up can be used to create natural looking brows.  Lip colour fades with age and lips lose their definition, again permanent make-up can create natural younger looking lips or for a more dramatic full lipstick look.

The pigmentation of permanent makeup may fade over time, particularly under the effects of sunlight or when using light colours, like brown tones for eyebrows. What happens during a treatment?

After initial consultation, the shape and colour of your treatment is agreed on between the client and technician and the pigment is placed into the skin accordingly.  The whole process for one area takes approximately one hour.

How soon can I go out?

You can usually go about your daily routine immediately but some clients experience some swelling and redness which normally subsides within 48 hours.  The colour will be approximately 40% darker and the area may be dry and flaky for 3-7 days after the treatment.

How long will the effect last?

Some pigment will remain in the skin permanently but will gradually fade over time.  It varies from client to client but generally lasts 3 to 5 years.

What if fashions change?

We would never perform a treatment that is too dramatic or trendy.  The idea is to enhance rather than change your features.  Colours are chosen to compliment your skin tone, hair and eye colour.

What about allergic reaction?

Tattoo pigments have been used for thousands of years and reactions are very rare.  Nouveau Contour pigments are of the highest grade and are hypoallergenic.  However we do always advise a patch test.

Is there any chance of infection?

The strictest sterilisation procedures are adhered to at all times.  A new, single use disposable, sterile needle is used for your complete safety.  All procedures conform to the British and European Health and Safety standards.
